This is a question Stuff I've found

Freddy Woo writes, "My non-prostitute-killing, lorry driving uncle once came home with a wedding cake. Found it in a layby, scoffed the lot over several weeks."

What's the best thing you've found?

^ this ^
I was working in a large supermarket today, and the absolute highlight of my day was watching the shoppers guiltily shuffle their feet, evidently aching to get their shopping done and get out.

That and the embarrassed parents trying to shut their screaming kids up for once.

Remember the 2 minutes silence here for 911?
Well I'm in the UK, and wasn't really that bothered. I made a point of being in the town centre that day. When all the sheep stopped moving, I made a point of swaggering along whistling "Pop Goes The Weasel."

Good for you.
Could you not just have not observed the silence rather than acting like a cunt?

I personally didn't observe it, but I didn't go out of my way to antagonise those who were. That's the behaviour of an immature prick.

I was in bed.
It's fairly easy complying with a 2 minute silence when you're passed out in a catatonic state from several pints the night before.

9/11 Remembrance
I was in a supermarket somewhere in Scotland during the 2 minutes silence for 9/11 a couple of years ago, and everyone took it very seriously. The lights in the bakery/deli/etc. were turned off, everyone stopped wheeling their trolleys and stopped for a moment of quiet contemplation or prayer. You could have heard a pin drop.

All except for a French family who evidently had no idea of what was going on, and got more paranoid by the second. They must've thought we were all getting software updates or something.

You should have done the same.
The silence is a sign of respect for those that gave up their lives, and continue to do so today so that you still have a Morriscums to shop in.
