Roulette Anyone?

Guaranteed way to win at Roulette?:
adcommunications2u.bravehost.com/casino.html

But just so you know the risks, here're the maths for when it goes wrong:

Example:
1. You bet £1 to Red
2. Result: Black (your loss is £1)
3. Then bet £2 to Red
4. Result: Black (your loss is £3)
5. Then bet £4 to Red
6. Result: Black (your loss is £7)
7. Then bet £8 to Red (and do the same until Red comes up)
8. Result: Red (You win £8)

the result at the end is win £8, but you've already lost £7, so you're only £1 up.

The problem is, if you get a long sequence of losing

Example 2:
1. You bet £1 to Red
2. Result: Black (your loss is £1)
3. Then bet £2 to Red
4. Result: Black (your loss is £3)
5. Then bet £4 to Red
6. Result: Black (your loss is £7)
7. Then bet £8 to Red
8. Result: Black (your loss is £15)
9. Then bet £16 to Red
10. Result: Black (your loss is £31)
11.Then bet £32 to Red
12. Result: Black (your loss is £63)
13. Then bet £64 to Red
14. Result: Black (your loss is £127)
15. Then bet £128 to Red
16. Result: Black (your loss is £255)
17. Then bet £256 to Red
18. Result: Black (your loss is £511)
19. Then bet £512 to Red
20. Result: Black (your loss is £1023)
21. Then bet £1024 to Red

If red then comes up you'll be £1 up; £1024 returned, £1024 win minus your £1023 losses, leaves £1 up. so you're betting £1024 to win £1.
If black comes however, you're £2047 down, and now need to bet £2048 to win £1.

So basically each time you start the system, your maximum profit is £1.

But your maximum loss is whatever is in your wallet.

So the system basically makes a very slow small profit until you get a run of losses - in the example above 10 blacks in a row and you're £1000 down.

You don't have an unending supply of money so a few more blacks and there's no way you can make the bet.

But statistically it's not very likely you say...?

Well 'statistically' its not very likely, say 1 in 1000 attempts it comes up 10 blacks in a row.

so 999 times you win £1 = £999
1 time it comes 10 blacks, you cant afford the 11th bet, so = -£1023
overall £24 down

If you can afford the £1024 bet then its going to come 11 blacks 1 in 2000 attempts

1999 times you win £1 = £1999
1 time it comes 11 blacks you can't afford the £2048 so = -£2047
overall down £48

Also consider the fact that 1 in 37 times it comes in on zero, giving you a refund of half your bet - basically another losing bet on the previous level, so the actual figures would be even worse.

So to sum up - repeated £1 wins, followed by the odd huge loss

And there you have it....

Regards
Kip

It works in theory but not in practice
Because casinos have maximum bet limits for precisely this reason.

If the maximum bet was £500, then you'd be unable to continue doubling like this.

Really, believe me. The casinos know their stuff. The rules are all there, to ensure that at the end of the day, on balance of probability, the house will win.

Another way
I seemed to stumble upon a fairly effective method when I was in Vegas a couple of years ago.

What I did was put two equal bets on every time: one on the colour that would come up, and another on whether it would come up odds or evens.

My logic was this - if one of my bets won and one lost, the winning bet would pay for the losing bet. If both won, I would double both stakes. If I lost, I'd lose twice. Then I just kept an eye on what had come up over the previous few spins, and adjusted accordingly. Slowly but steadily, I won more than I lost every night.

At this point, a mate of mine who had been studying my strategy, came up with a counter-strategy of his own. Bastard put $50 on green (won) walked away with a grand!

Almost makes me think that luck plays a part...

also
Being an ex-croupier a lot of students would come in with this 'foolproof' system and smug grins...

...which soon turned in to shaking hands and heavy sweating when they were up to a £160 bet after only 6 spins. This to win just £5 means your stomach churning starts working against your mathmatical theory.

It doesn't happen very often, but I've seen runs of 30 consecutive blacks/reds.

there's no Roulette system or trick - it's weighted about 3% in the casinos favour. in the long run, you're fucked.

Never going to work
The only way to really win is to go in once in your life, put a bet on and leave no matter what the result. If you're lucky, you've won something. If you're unlucky and stupid, you're now addicted to gambling - have fun giving all your cash to the casino.

EDIT: I did list the reasons but somehow the net pixies stole the first half of the post.

Reasons:

1. Extra zeros.
2. Cap on bet amount.
3. Stats doesn't work like that: if you have an initial run of 10 blacks then after an infinite number of spins blacks will still be ahead of reds by ten spins on average.

.
I've only played once but found by just betting $5 a time on either black or red made it hard to lose every time. I never doubled anything played for about half an hour feeling all silly and inexperienced. I started with $50 and walked away with over $100 I had never gambled before and did it purely because I was on holiday in vegas, in fact its the only betting I did the whole time.

I would still say roulette is the best thing for the beginner like me.

I tried this
Worked quite well for the first few weeks, pocketing at least £20 a time, made about £140 which was quite good going whilst at uni.

But then, the unthinkable happened...

13 in-a-row black streak when I was on red. Kidney beans and pasta for a week!

A better, less scary sequence is the 'fibbonacci', where you add the preceding number to your total, ie:

£1, £1, £2, £3, £5, £8, £13...

Lose, go to the next number, win, drop down a number on the sequence.

Well I've just ignored all my own advice

Joined betfair.com and played to the above rules and, well, to be honest it worked.

I put £25 into my account and Betfair matched it so £50 to play with.

went up quite quickly to £70 but then there was a hair raising moment when I had to bet £32 but I won and carried on.

I'm off home now with an account balance of £107 so lets see what tomorrow brings - I've put my stop loss at £25 so I can't really lose.

You need to look up 'independent variables'
Short explanation: even if it comes up black 100 times in a row, the chance of getting a red on the next go is still 50% (presuming a fair wheel, which I'd be doubting after 100 blacks!)
