This is a question My most gullible moment

Someone once told me that gullible wasn't in the dictionary and I went, "yeah yeah ha ha" but when they were gone that didn't stop me checking. What was YOUR most gullible moment? Zero points for buying an icon on b3ta.

broooooooooooooooo ck bock bock bock bock
i clucked excitedly, answering the phone one day when i was about 13 to a lovely - if chavvy - lady from kfc. she said that they were having a contest to see how many times you could cluck in a minute, and the winner got #500 and free kfc for a month.

forgetting that i was veggie and hated chicken, i threw myself into it with a vengeance, clucking for england. cluck! cluck!! cluuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!!! i squawked loudly.

after about 15 seconds and 150 clucks, i was happily confident about my clucking abilities. but by 30 seconds and 300 clucks, i suddenly got suspicious. how were they counting these......

as i faltered, there was a gap in my clucking. through the silence, i heard the sound of stifled laughter, which rapidly got louder and louder.

yeah, so the nice lady was a so-called friend from my class, and she had what felt like half the year there listening to me squawking like a muppet.

this is still arguably the most embarrassing moment of my life! didn't live that one down until - well until something even worse, but i don't think i'll be sharing that!

I put it to you that this is possibly a fabrication.

seriously, how sad is your real life that you have to make up this shite for attention.

Leave It Out
ye doubters.

I've never heard this tale before (but obviously some of you have) and so you doubt that it happened.

Well let me tell you a little about the way the world works - and how this tale is probably true.

You see, I love this tale. I love it so much that one day I'm going to ring someone up and tell them I'm from KFC and see if I can get them to cluck.

That's what probably happened here - someone told the story to Ms Swipes mate and she thought she'd give it a go. And R Swipe fell for it.

I find this eminently feasible and so this gets a click.

Lots of the gags I've pulled started out with something I'd heard and I'd think:

"Fuck yeah - gotta try that"

we used to do prank calls when I was a kid, including phoning random numbers and doing "operatic voices" at them, so this gets a kentucky fried click!

I wouldn't worry too much, looks like the doubters are both from /talk

Oh, and *Click* (haha, see, I got it right, I'm not a clucking idiot...arse)

i wish
this were a fabrication. it seems funny now, but at 13 it was actually really embarrassing! then again, i wouldn't fall for it now. at least, i hope not.

oh, and esmeweatherwax, i don't know how sad my life is. but as you're the one with nothing better to do than write rude messages to total strangers ONLINE at 1am on a thursday night, why don't you tell everyone? i'm sure you're a much better judge of sad lives than i am.

Ahh phone pranks!
I remember how funny they used to be as a kid - and yet what massive cnuts we probably seemed to the poor people answering the phone to the number we dialed at random.
*clicky* miss Swipe - but now I want to hear about the tale you don't want to share! *sulks*
