Halloween
‘WoooOOoOOoo’ intones Richard McBeef. ‘WooOOooo’. Halloween is upon us, that time of pre Christian spirit worship, the fear of the unknown and the undead….and plastic skeletons from Asda.
What better time to hear your scariest accounts: when have you been most petrified? Ever had an encounter that you couldn’t rationally explain? Perhaps you yourself are a spooky ghost? Do tell.

On reflection, Gmork from The Never Ending Story wasn't scary in the slightest.

It really used to freak me out as a kid
Then I watched it on acid as a student and actually grew to quite like it

It's all about fascism and was meant to be scary.
Efrafa warren was a Nazi-style society in which everybody was marked and life very heavily supervised and regulated. Adams wanted to scare kids with this stuff, it was within clear living memory at the time the book was written.

I don't remember names, much of the plot or anything
But I watched this as a nipper (prolly 6 or 7) and the fighting bunnehs I could deal with. The bit at the end when the main bunneh snuffed at and tried to chase the black 'spirit' bunneh thing but couldn't catch it formed the cornerstone of my nightmares for a good few years. Ugh.
