This is a question Hypocrisy

Overheard the other day: "I've told you before - stop swearing in front of the kids, for fuck's sake." Your tales of double standards please.

On the subject of Jade Goody.
Jack Straw. He lets her Fiance out for the day to marry her.

If I was in jail, and my fiance was dying of cancer, would he let ME out for the day?

Point of Order
He wasn't in jail, he was released last month but had a curfew order in place that meant he had to be at his mum's house each night.

Now, he doesn't sound like the nicest bloke in the world, and the right wing press is throwing a hissy fit over Straw getting involved, but in similar circumstances I think yes, you would have a decent shout at getting a curfew order rescinded for the evening.

Sounds
sensible enough.

Is he likely to re-offend? Either don't let him out or have someone keep an eye on him. Or keep a tag on him.

I think it odd that Brown and Straw and the like know who she is
Do they not have a country to run?

It's hard not to know.
I wish I didn't.

To be fair though
Gordon the Brown did call her "Jane Goody", while expressing how much sympathy he had for her...

Does Jack
ever feel tempted to give her a Benny Hill style slap session on her head?

Actually...
It isn't uncommon for the Home Secretary, or someone similar, to allow you out like that. Only they have the power, so that's why it is them who decides.
