Lost...Trying to impress a new girlfriend, I 'borrowed' my mother's car. Dropping her off in London, I managed to lose the car keys between locking it and reaching the other side of the road. Utter humiliation followed as my mum took the train to London with the spare key...

Not me, but someone was telling me the other day that their mate...... lost a PC. He knew it was in his house somewhere. He could ping it. But he simply couldn't find it.
Dunno. Amused me.
EDIT: Apparently this story is from some IRC site. Oh well. As I said, "a mate told me it."
