This is a question I'm glad nobody saw me

Have you ever done something, realised how stupid or embarrassing it was and then looked about to see if anyone watching? Did you get away with it?

It was stupid, portentially embarrassing and I'm damn proud I did it!
We're going back probably about fifteen years ago when TV regailed us in the ay-em with the magazine pogramme 'This Morning'. I forget where they filmed it, I think it was Manchester and I was doing some entry level audio work, basically making tea and rolling cables.
There was a work do one night and there was a cute young runner who I'd been flirting with, alcohol was flowing freely and it was clear that I was going to get my end away. I was staying in a youth hostel so couldn't take her back there and she lived with her folks miles away. Then I had an idea. Ladies and gentleman. I can stand proud and say with fair certainty that I am one of two people who have ever shagged on Fred's weather map!
A fact that is pure pub top trumpery when you've had a couple and someone asks, 'Where's the strangest place you've ever shagged?' thinking that they're going to win with in a hedge or something.

I find it a little hard to believe that anyone making this claim would be able to forget that Fred's weather map was very famously in the Albert docks in Liverpool.

I also am having difficulty with the point that anyone making this up would fail to do a quick google to make his claim a little bit more believable

Apprentiship days
I moved round the UK and Europe a hell of a lot. I think I was only there for about three weeks, hence the staying in a youth hostel bit.
If I was making it up choosing Fred's weather map was a bit bloody random.

It's still worth a google.
I am not sure whether I believe you, for the same reasons you are now defending against.
(, Tue 1 Feb 2011, 16:01, closed)
Yeah. Well it'd probably be more believeable if you knew me. I've done many things that most people would believe unless they knew me.

He's consistent (besides the location)

I know a sound engineer who tried to get jiggy in the Teletubbies house
...but it's circular and apparently has nowhere secluded to hide from the other workers (it was during the day), so he didn't manage it. Shame, that would have been a clear winner!

I shagged the queen on the altar in Westminster abbey on prime time telly during Princess Diana's funeral.

Beat that!

I had a threeway with the queen in Westminster Abbey whilst dressed as an alter!

I have bad news...

It wasn't the queen...It was me in a dress with a fake crown on.

I always meant to thank you guys but never got round to it.

This is like the ending to a very screwed up episode of Scooby Doo!

to be fair ghostie
you're probably not the only two to have ever done it on there,

probably a generation of scousers leaving school now with at least one kid per class who was conceived there.

Fred's Map
My Boyfriend claims to be one of the group who broke Fred's map a few years ago - they managed to snapp it. Not sure whether it's true or not but he swears.

When I say a few, I mean like when I was in school so maybe early-mid 90s. He's scouse too so wouldn't suprise me.

This sounds like bull to me
I live on mersey side -and saw the map on many occasion. Not only was it on choppy water some 30ft from the edge of the dock - the bridge they would lower to get on the map was taken away to stop people climbing on it. If you swam to the map - I may have believed you. But as the dock has an operating temperature of something like 2*c. I doubt you would be in much mood to have the thex.

In any case - the map is in a public area, with bars all around. INFACT the studio has now been converted into a bar. Circo I beleive.

The buidling which literally overlooked the map was also apartments.
