some DJ decks have appeared next to the PC this morning
this means that Wiggy is going to be making a dreadful noise whenever he gets the opportunity. Bah.

Does he have any records?

Monty!
I can't believe I didn't think of this before. My brother-in-law is being bought some decks for Christmas by his better half, not that he knows this, and the rest of the family have been asked to get various accoutrements. I'm supposed to buy him some drum'n'bass vinyl for mixing. The problem is that I don't actually like d'n'b. Can you recommend me anything current?

Morning.
Simple answer is no, I'm afraid. Drum'n'Bass Arena (breakbeat.co.uk) used to be a great shop, you could hear snippets first etc but looking today they seem to be download only. It might give you some pointers as to which artists/labels are good at the moment. I am well out of the loop I'm afraid.

Sorry not to be of more help.

Not at all
A few samples would be very useful before hitting Norwich's vinyl shops, I don't want to look like a complete numpty when I go in there. Thank you for the suggestion

No.
It's digital and shit. Maybe they're not DJ decks. It's a big lump of metal with lots of buttons and dials on it.

Maybe it's a time machine.

it's probably a machine
to control you by administering pain

Like a mechanized buttplug?

(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 9:06, Reply)
if it has been mistaken for some decks
then I suspect not.
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 9:10, Reply)
Depends on the level of mechanization
Also, it's been mistaken for some decks by a GIRL, what do they know about technology?

*flees*
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 9:11, Reply)
nothing about technology, but I'd wager a fair amount about buttplugs

Is he begging for sex again?

(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 8:42, Reply)
if he was then he would know that mixing one dreadful repetitive track into another is not going to turn me on.

(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 8:53, Reply)
If he's going to learn scratching
he'd do well to get some of DJ Swamp's DJ tools records - they have the same noises looped over and over again so that if (when) the records skip, you don't lose your place. You will thank me for this advice as it will make the whole experience a great deal more listenable.

Of course if he's just going to blend house records you should just piss in his mixer and call him 'the last airbender'.
(, Wed 15 Dec 2010, 8:43, Reply)
I will be doing the latter.
lols for last airbender.
