whoop ass on some students.

it's morning for you, right? so what's today going to be all about?

well if it's warm then I'm going to go down to the beach for a bit,
it's supposed to be 27 today - it's 9 am and it's already 19 degrees.

*jealous*
I suppose I could have gone down the beach today. It was about 5 degrees and raining. Also, 'my' beach is a bit grim
(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 21:52, Reply)
ahaha I really like my beach, it's less then a minute down the road by car (I'm lazy when it's warm).
it;s got proper sand and clear water. And no rocks to stab your feet with.
(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 21:54, Reply)
Does it have sharks?

(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 21:56, Reply)
Only Wobegongs, and they're harmless.
the things you need to watch out for are stingrays - they lie in the shallows in the warm water. There's a big daddy one that's about 5 ft wide and just as long.

Is it fair to say that wobbegong sharks are a bit pathetic?
(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:00, Reply)
You could say they're the Baldmonkey of the shark world.

(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:02, Reply)
I was hoping they'd be a bit like these
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pathetic_Sharks
(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:02, Reply)
yeah they're very very harmless.
they're a lot smaller then other sharks (about a metre generally), and they tend to just keep to themselves.

however, if you go out past the reef (about 150 yards out in the water), then you need to be careful - cos the sea floor drops and there are the good old Great Whites.

Eek!
SHARK ATTACK!
(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:06, Reply)
i used to be across the road from the beach
there are no rocks to stab your feet on, but it's generally assumed that going in the water is hazardous to one's health.

You can go for a nice walk along the sewage outlet pipe, though

I am very very jealous of you right now.
I live about as far away from the sea as it's possible to be in the uk, and I miss it.
(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:00, Reply)
^this.
The second reason I like to visit DG and Tourettes is because they live a 10 minute drive from the sea.

Do you like to stroll along the prom with a bag of chips?

(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:08, Reply)
There isn't a prom but there is an awesome beach and sandunes.
Mildew and I love it so much.

Anywhere you can get a 99 or a Calippo from?

(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:11, Reply)
aw, really?
I must wrangle myself an invite one of these days, if they live where I think they do it's all rugged and castle-y, it's beautiful.
(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:10, Reply)
Definitely.

(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:11, Reply)
I never used to live by the sea but it's sort of a feature of where I live.
farmland is mixed with seaside.

unfortunately it's usually too cold for swimming.

How can you say that having spent a month in the land of the whinging pom when they are bollocks deep in snow?

(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:09, Reply)
because the water we have is antarctic mixing with the southern ocean courtesy of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current.

(, Wed 9 Feb 2011, 22:12, Reply)
Alright trappy.
You've got a cocktail there.

It's Southern Ocean 'on the rocks'.
