I'm going to bake my first cake from scratch tonight.
Reading that sentence back seems like it shouldn't make sense.
Anyway, any baking advice for me?

YAY, good luck
do not be tempted to add vodka. Either to you or the cake

I've never baked a successful cake
but make sure you get the oven temperature right. Apparently that's where I go wrong.

Alt Q: Probably Late Republic/Early Empire in Rome

Only add a file to the cake if you're sending to to a friend in prison.
In general, cakes don't need files hidden inside them.

My favourite historical event started about this time yesterday.
Baking advice - none, I don't like cooking.

There is still absolutely no chance of you going through.

I'm reading Nigel Slater's life story, or his childhood one, it's based just on the cuff of when I can enjoy the book or not in the 50s.
Any earlier and I wouldn't be able to relate at all.

Did you see the programme?
It was called Toast and was on around Crimbo. It was really good. Me and my daughter happened to catch the start of it, and we just totally got into it.

I want to make Beatroot cake one day.

Just follow the recipe to the letter
Get the oven pre-heated, get your quantities exactly right, don't open the oven door until time is up. You can't go wrong. Good luck.
