No, that would be absurd
I was going to cite an Australian band who we famously disagree on

I've never even heard of Angry Anderson, sounds like a wrestler's name.

You utter bender.

he did that one song 'Suddenly'.
It was on Scott and Charlene's wedding.

...nope, not ringing any bells
Your musical knowledge just crossed the threshold between "impressive" and "terrifying"

He was also the singer in Rose Tattoo
who are actually well rated, but not by me.

Yeah, Nick Cave's recent stuff has been quite tame.
And that Bunny Munro book was gash compared to And the Ass Saw the Angel.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:05, Reply)
EXACTLY
To give you chance to vent about something I know winds you up, do you think Chase & Status write all their new stuff to the opening ten seconds of Pink Floyd's "Money"?
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:08, Reply)
Yes.
They sometimes also motivate themselves with Mudhoney's version of The Money Will Roll Right in.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:11, Reply)
I concur
Their transition from d'n'b wannabes to chart-friendly cash-machines was signifcantly more sudden than Pendulum's
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:16, Reply)
They have the same manager as Bendulum.

(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:27, Reply)
Yeah, I know
Funny how their career trajectory changed so suddenly, eh? Now you've got Nero, signed to C&S' label, making more Pendulum-lite poppery. I shouldn't complain, from my point of view it's a hell of a lot better than the mid-90's, when everyone wanted to sound like Oasis
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:32, Reply)
Everybody shit tried to sound like Oasis.
Spiritualized and Primal Scream made two of the finest albums of that period and sounded nothing like Oasis.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:38, Reply)
You have to admit that Give Out But Don't Give Up was a change in direction for them though
Even if it was obviously much better than anything Oasis did, it wa still disappointing by their standards. And Screamadelica preceded Britpop, in fact part of my problem with that whole scene is that it killed British music's creativity stone dead just as it was threatening to get interesting.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:48, Reply)
i was referring to Vanishing Point.
Their best record by a long way.

And compared to the first two, Give Out wasn't really a change in direction, just a step backwards.

The first three songs on it are superb though.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:55, Reply)
got to love Lyre of Orpheus and that stuff though

(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:08, Reply)
Start of a downward trajectory.
Nocturama was poor. His best are Let Love In, Murder Ballads, Boatman's Call and Henry's Dream. Those records represent a pretty good run.
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:13, Reply)
I'm not that familiar with what songs are on what album really
But I am familiar with Murder Ballads and it is quality
(, Thu 24 Feb 2011, 10:15, Reply)
He followed the insanity of Murder Ballads
With the sophistication of The Boatman's Call. A great album, not a duff track on it.
