I need a new car, I'm thinking, Golf, Focus or Civic like the the dead inside drone that I am.
Tell me a story about your first/best/worst car?
ALT: Cottage Pie or Shepherd's pie?
ALT ALT: Cottaging or Shepherding?

Mazda 323 - did 130,000 miles in it. Great but underpowered. Also no discernable ventilation system meant after a 300 mile drive, you had to be peeled from the seats
Second Car - Mazda RX-8. Fucking amazing to drive and immense fun. Problems with starting it up though. If you moved it from the drive and stopped it, you couldn't restart it as the engine was flooded. Pain in the arse for this reason!
Current car (3rd) - BMW 318. Nice to drive, comfy, boring.....
Either pie is fine for me, ta

Probably £10 per two tank fulls. I just got used to buying oil and petrol

You don't buy a car like that then complain about mpg, etc. You just go fast - EVERYWHERE!

dullest fucking car ever made. Gutless, characterless, soulless. The perfect car for the dead inside drone that you are.
I drive an Audi because I'm an aggressive tailgating cunt.

so that they're mounted int he front bumper. That way you boys could safely get even closer thanks to the handy distance warning.

I like your thinking! Mrs Cow used a convenient rock to determine the distance when reversing my car a while ago.

much better to drive, less stupidly laid out inside
I've had one of the old burgundy square VW Polos. Which was great, but underpowered, a mid-80s 205, which was a great little motor, a 206, which was fucking crap, and my current Seat Toledo which was great until it started going wrong all the fucking time.
I am currently researching for my purchase of a VW T5 van sometime shortly after I get married.
edit: I have driven pretty much every small to medium hatchback going recently, due to hire cars and stuff, and I can boldly say, never buy a:
Vauxhall
Fiat (except 500 or Panda 4x4)
anything French

Had a ride in a 106 a while back. Fucking terrifying.

partly because it cost me £200, partly because it was really quick and like a go-kart, but all of the new ones are fucking dreadful.
Same as the Vauxhalls, cars have tripled in weight, engines have stayed the same size. I object to having to change down to 3rd gear to continute doing 40mph up a bit of a hill in a 1.8 Astra.

the main one being an elusive gremlin in the engine, is a really quick car. It does the sprint in under 8 seconds, which is plenty fast enough for day to day driving. I'd love an S3, though.

It is so utterly excellent, after my first ride in it I told him I wanted to have sex with it.

and I'm afraid that's coloured my opinion of them.

power steering? No way, central locking? Not a chance, Power? none. 0-60 around 25 seconds at least
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 16:09, Reply)
literally the only good thing about is were the heated seats and heated steering wheel.
I have a bright white Punto this week. That doesn't have a single redeeming feature.

an old C Class, less than 2 grand and it has all the bells and whistles that a man could desire.
(, Mon 28 Feb 2011, 16:15, Reply)
It's based on the Focus chassis but a far superior car. There's hardly any of them about, so it has a bit of novelty value about them. Mine's is the Sport version, which is 2 litre, and is pretty quick off the mark - 0-60 in about 9 secs.
Had it for 4 years, and still love it.
