I'm not entirely sure how this weeks, surely every transmition, unless cartoon, will have a product placement of some kind. Would The Gadget Show be one huge product placement exersize? Could you get around the rules by giving the telly show or parent company a 'donation' of some kind, and the show 'buys' the product thus it curcmaventing the rules?

As far as I understand it
there isn't a product placement in every programme. Just when they do have something that shamelessly plugs a product, they have to tell you that's what they're doing. You know, as if you were too thick to notice for yourself.

For example, I watched the last series of American Apprentice they just showed on the BBC. It was full of "Your challenge this week is to promote the excellent cut-price, value for money holidays supplied by Arsecheeks of Hollywood. Thank the nice people at Arsecheeks of Hollywood for offering you this opportunity, boys and girls.".

I'm guessing they mean things like that.
