What he get's paid doesn't bother me it's the Union's money
It's the suggestion that his workers are badly paid, particularly in the last couple of years everyone has had to endure pay cuts/freezes, changes to pensions (don't get me started on final salary pensions)and for some reason his selfish union think they shouldn't have to accept any change, if they are forced into it they'll take it out of the public.

I've often wondered why transport providers
choose to go on strike, rather than offer their service for free for the day. OK, so it wouldn't impact on those with Oyster cards or season tickets, but the transport company would still lose a shit load of money, and the union would probably get a lot more sympathy from the public.

They don't own the stations
they can't set ticketing pricing or rules, the only power a union really has is to withold their labour.

Ah, I see.
I'm sure there's somewhere in Europe that does it, which is why I questioned the practise.
