Fuck the TV
It's 21C outside and gorgeous. Just cycled in my shirt sleeves for the first time this year.

Bliss! I suspect I will be spending a fair amount of time with Bontague and Lustful in pub gardens this summer.

I'm orf for a wander into town soon
for no other good reason than it is nice
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:21, Reply)
Bitchin' idea
Going to take a lengthy smoke break later for more park based sunshine!
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:33, Reply)
Seconded - why watch the idiot box when the pubs are open and the sun's shining?
Anyone got recommendations for the best outside drinking in Ol' London Town?
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:22, Reply)
Narrow it down to a town
and I might be able to help old chum!
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:33, Reply)
Err, I meant pubs in London with good outside drinking ...
Don't it say that?
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:39, Reply)
Still a big place, that London
This is the advantage of living in Norwich. Move here.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:41, Reply)
Yes, you're right
I can't read. Sorry.

There's a nice pub/bar with a roof terrace just next to the Imperial War Museum, I like to combine visits.

The Ship in Borough, the Roebuck (wonderful + real ales) in Borough.

I'll think of more!

The Water Poet
in Spitalfields is meant to be nice, but I've never been.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:46, Reply)
Thanks for the pointers, I shall check'em out.
Stuck in the concrete wasteland that is the environs of St Paul's there's not a lot of pubgardenry to see ..
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 14:04, Reply)
Sadly I'm stuck in work, so I don't really have a chance of enjoying the sunshine for long until the weekend.

(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:22, Reply)
I spent my lunch hour in a beer garden
With a couple of pints and a puzzle book. It was fucking lovely.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:23, Reply)
Sadly, having any alcohol at lunchtime here counts as 'Gross Misconduct', so even though the pub is only 2 minutes walk away, I don't go near the place

(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:24, Reply)
Eek
I think I would change jobs
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:25, Reply)
Indeed
Must be an American company. Beers at lunchtime is a British institution, damn it. We should never have let them win in 1776, they've been nothing but a pain in the world's collective arse ever since.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:26, Reply)
That said
Can you imagine David Cameron in charge of that much money?
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:28, Reply)
I think, and I might be wrong on this.
But I *think*, that the British government of the time was opposed to expansion West and this caused one of the contentions that led to the war of independence. it's quite possible that things could have been very different over there had they not gone Stag. Mexico would be bigger, richer and more powerful for a start.

/pointless conjecture.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:30, Reply)
Interesting
I did not know any of that, and am happy to assume you are correct; it certainly sounds logical, as the British government would have had enormous trouble controlling an expanded America
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:34, Reply)
Well, the rules can be somewhat OTT here
But there's nothing else going at the minute, sadly.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:31, Reply)
You should come and work for the gays
Positively encouraged!
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:33, Reply)
Oddly enough, whenever there's a mention of a lunchtime pint,
it is ALWAYS Darth.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 13:56, Reply)
I would take umbrage
if that were not entirely accurate. 7/10.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 14:04, Reply)
ANOTHER GAY JIBE HERE
He always likes to fit in a couple of small ones at lunchtime.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 14:15, Reply)
HEY THIS NEEDS A SCORE PLEASE

(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 14:24, Reply)
Sorry dear
6/10. Small ones, indeed.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 14:26, Reply)
How about
Darth likes to gargle down a couple of pints of gentleman's liquid of a lunchtime?
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 14:27, Reply)
Tenuous
4/10
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 14:28, Reply)
Unofficial scoring does not count
I will NOT receive a 4/10 from you sir

*refers to Gay Strikethrough Lawyers 4 U*
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 14:29, Reply)
