motivation is the most tricky thing.
I basically lost 3 stone by drinking less and smoking more though, so didn't really struggle with motivation.

eating out, or takeaway stuff isn't good though, even in places with healthy ingredients, because they still use a significant amount of oil and butter and stuff, and it is surprising how quickly that shit adds up.

Bit of what you like does you good
I see no problem at all with an occasional curry/beer
It is when it is every night it becomes a problem
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:24, Reply)
yeah, there's a dickload of calories in booze, so you have to eat fuck all every day if you also want to drink booze every day
or just eat nothing but fruit and veg
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:26, Reply)
Hence I dont drink often (until Saturday)
Smoothie for breakfast and wholemeal wrap + fruit for lunch for a fortnight now
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:27, Reply)
I've been drinking more recently
because I remembered how much I love wine. Don't get pissed often though.

I've been eating toast for breakfast and soup for lunch for a couple of years probably, and that has seen me right.

I'm down to 13 stone 2 pounds or so, and for some who is 6'2 and genuinely big-boned, that isn't bad

You want to see ripples of wobbling sweaty useless fat?
*slaps stomach*
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:31, Reply)
That is good indeed

i lost 4 stone
in 2009 but it is dull, dull, dull.

vippers is right, i think lager is like 300 calories a pint.

Lovely calories though

Delicious calories
I'm planning to stick to Dry Martinis from now on.

Not too many calories in one.

G&T please
or a glass of red
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:35, Reply)
Gin and slimline
There is a god.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:38, Reply)
^this
I don't drink beer, and I've cut right down on wine, but G&T is fine
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:40, Reply)
If I'm drinking for the long haul
it's vodka, lime and soda for me
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:36, Reply)
i drink vodka with a diet coke on the side
it's about as calorie free as it gets.

but booze isn't my problem, eating out pretty much 7 nights a week and often having client/colleague lunches is much more my issue. doom.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:38, Reply)
yeah, there's not a massive amount you can do about that
you could leave the city, get a different job in the South West and take up surfing

or you know, not eat out every night.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:40, Reply)
tip fucking top
i've put 2 stone back on and have got my drinking mojo back.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:34, Reply)
This^
I stopped pretty much drinking anything for about 6 months a few years ago and made a monumental tolerance mistake when at a Christmas do
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:36, Reply)
First glass of wine after 2 1/2 months off the juice
and I was half cut. Brilliant.
(, Wed 6 Apr 2011, 15:44, Reply)
I went WAY beyond one glass
I drank about 5 G&Ts, a bottle of red, most of a bottle of white and about 10 bottles of Becks. Magic taxi ride home + 2 day hangover
