the early stuff is much as Monty says
the later stuff is actually very good.

I'm told you can pick it up from anywhere
But I have massive OCD about starting from the top

they aren't all in order
and on rereading them I found the first few kind of painful to read in a Simpson's tie kind of way.
If you were actually keen to read them I could give you a suggested order that would take you through early stuff to the newest following one set of characters

Nah, 'cause some of them appear in each others stories, like when the witches and wizards end up in the same story

was thinking mainly about the guards ones
in my view the best books are the later guards ones
if he likes them he'll be more likely to read through some of the earlier stuff which fleshes out the other characters a bit more.

I'd actually really like that, cheers mate
If this list could include all the ones Ms Foxtrot has so I don't have to buy any or pay the fine the library claims I owe them, all the better

I've just found something online which unfortunately proves the massive geekiness point
but is useful for this purpose
www.lspace.org/books/reading-order-guides/the-discworld-reading-order-guide-20.jpgthe ones I was on about are the ones starting by the arrow with Watch Novels.

Ironically this totally buggers my whole "not a virgin" thing
As Ms Foxtrot fucking loves Pratchett

Thief of Time.
I worry myself sometimes about the near-encyclopaedic knowledge I have of all things completely geeky.
Can't help but think something went wrong somewhere.

Nah
I just keep the Pratchett thing to my Kindle so I don't look so geeky.
When I start talking is the problem though.
