Shortly after I lived on my own for the first time.
My dad had decorated it all in colours I'd chosen, and I was going up the steps of the house with a new rug and vase for the living room.
I felt like Mary Tyler Moore.

I've shared with people for a good chunk of my adult life.
Never doing it again unless I'm sharing with a partner.

Ditto.
Didn't live alone until I was 27.

I'm going to be moving soon in an effort to save some money.
Unfortunately the rent's so cheap where I am at the moment that this is almost impossible to do without flat sharing.

I will probably end up moving and being just as poor.
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:46, Reply)
Are you really that stuck for cash?

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:47, Reply)
Sort of, I need to start saving relatively large amounts of money.

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:50, Reply)
Get your girlfriend up the duff?

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:53, Reply)
I was just wondering that
and whether it would be rude to ask. However, since you've asked already... have you managed to carelessly impregnate someone?
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:55, Reply)
I'm good at asking rude questions.
I have been accused of a total lack of tact, but I prefer to think of it as being refreshingly straightforward.

Howdy Berk.
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:56, Reply)
I have been accused of similar
but I've never asked a question I would have been offended by if it had been asked of me. People are just weird.

Alright CQ?
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 16:00, Reply)
Well, yes, but it's all relative, innit?
There's very few questions I'd be offended by, probably none actually, a few I might refuse to answer, but how can a question be offensive?

As my granddad used to say "They're all queer, 'cept me and thee - and thee's a bit peculiar."

No, he's saving up for the Gregg's summer sale.

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:55, Reply)
Yeah, I need to buy me some real Cornish pasties.

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 16:01, Reply)
With real Cornish in them?

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 16:05, Reply)
With peas and carrots and so on.

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 16:07, Reply)
So, not Cornish flavoured then, like fruit pasties are fruit flavoured?

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 16:09, Reply)
No no, the real ones. The genuine Cornish ones that Greggs sell.

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 16:20, Reply)
So Greg is a Cornish chap who sells carrot flavoured fruit pastels then?
*continues to wilfully not get your piss-poor joke*
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 16:24, Reply)
As of October
I will likely be sharing for the first time in, ooh, 7 years maybe? I am fucking dreading it.
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:46, Reply)
Y'see while your dad still does your decorating...
Have you achieved "being an adult"?

Er... my dad still takes care of putting up shelves/car maintenance/etc. for me
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:42, Reply)
I've done decorating myself before, quite a lot of it, but this was a job for professionals!
HUGE flat.
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:45, Reply)
I've done it once
I don't intend on repeating the experience
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:48, Reply)
Did you know you can sand floorboards by taping sandpaper onto your shoes and dancing like a Ukrainian?

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:49, Reply)
Those Eastern Europeans have got it sussed.

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:50, Reply)
But where are they all coming from?
/Gillianduffylols
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:53, Reply)
From Smurfland where they belong?

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:54, Reply)
Are you talking just like us?

(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:57, Reply)
I did not know that, no.
I have only ever used the more traditional method of hiring a sander, but I shall bear your idea in mind should I ever sand another floor.
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:52, Reply)
Fuck paying for a sander.
Get exercise, have fun, frighten the man downstairs.
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 16:06, Reply)
There's a man under my floorboards??
I think I should be the one who is frightened then.
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 16:12, Reply)
I haven't been allowed to paint any of the flats I've rented
but I did feel like that when I bought my sofa. As sofas go, it's bloody lovely.
(, Thu 28 Jul 2011, 15:44, Reply)
Sofa so good.
