Just got a ticket to see Mastodon at Brixton Academy in February.

I always read Mastodon as mastitis.

You're obsessed with breasts
and breast related ailments.
(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:03, Reply)
I blame B3ta.
I hated breasts before I came here.

Don't let broadsword hear you say that

He's been instrumental in me loving my breasts.

Rock band
Very, very good on record.

I'm considering going to see them for the 3rd time.
(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:05, Reply)
Oh.
If they aren't regularly mentioned in Uncut or Mojo, I don't really have a hope of knowing about them.
(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:16, Reply)
Give them a listen
'Crack The Skye' is a fantastic album.
(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:26, Reply)
Will do.

(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:33, Reply)
Is that the best place to start?
Allmusic rates Leviathan as their best album.
(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:36, Reply)
Crack the SKye is probably more accessible
unless you really, really like technical thrash metal already. In which case start with Blood Mountain, then Leviathan, then Crack the Skye.
(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:38, Reply)
^^This

Accessibility isn't the most important thing
I'm old, so thrash to me is Metallica/Anthrax/Slayer. If it follows in that lineage then I'll take your suggested route.
(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:45, Reply)
It's more progressive than that. but still good.

(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:51, Reply)
Nice!
I'm considering going to see them again, just because I feel I've missed out by not enjoying them the last 2 times.
(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:06, Reply)
or twice, even?

(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:07, Reply)
The last twice?

(, Thu 13 Oct 2011, 11:08, Reply)
