Is there an actual written policy on what you're permitted to wear at work.

i worked somewhere where you weren't allowed to wear shorts ever
We asked why, they said "well there were these guys once who went drinking in their lunchbreak and caused all sorts of trouble..."

we asked how the story was related to the shorts ban. "well, they were wearing shorts..."
