As a Token Tory, I'd like to have my say on the earlier Daily Mail link-
It may surprise some of you to know that I do not disagree with the study, as it is obvious many hard line conservatives in the US do tend to be rather backwards. I do not think it applies to the UK though.
As a Libertarian Tory, I think that this is true about authoritarian social conservatives, but they exist in the Labour and Nat vote just as much.

Be fair to the lad, it was only a US based survey.
Speaking as someone who has voted Labour and Tory I find that more Labour voters hold very nationalist and racist views when compared to Conservatives. Its them that vote BNP, you know.
