Well, I went away to get me crochet hooks
and on the way I stripped a load of wallpaper. Started, couldn't stop

here is the order of things on the wall
pink paint
crappy textured wallpaper
mid green paint
light green paint
army green paint
red (this may be plaster)

oh and a grim flowery border on top of all that

You should really stop talking to yourself, you know.

It was an update thing
for people who care about my walls
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 20:03, Reply)
I care.
what colour is this one going to be? Is this the one with the funky carpet? If so white might show it off
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 20:11, Reply)
nah, this is the art room
so it's just going to be white, but I'll be covering it in whiteboards and cork and things to make notes on. Going to be a darkroom, too, so I have to get blackout blinds, too. Didn't mean to start it for a few weeks

Can we see some photo updates?

(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 20:46, Reply)
other than pictures of layers of paint and wallpaper
(which I took earlier and probably will use to design some textiles project or something) there's not much to update. Had visitors the last two weekends, got more next weekend and a larp event the weekend after. Easter hols, however will be all about the decorating

Stripping wallpaper is bare fun.
I can't wait to have my own place and do it up from top to bottom.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 20:01, Reply)
this is totally what I'm doing
only it turns out there are important details like what the fuck you do with the big pile of paint and wallpaper, stuff costing money, lack of skillz and having to go to work
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 20:04, Reply)
Yeah that's the gay bits.
I'm more of a "buy furniture" person.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 20:05, Reply)
so really for you a house would be more of a
an excuse to shop more?

I'm treating mine as a troublesome art project
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 20:10, Reply)
Oh I'd definitely do it up as well.
But all the hassle/rubbish etc wouldn't cross my mind because that's exactly what it is. Hassle. I'd just ignore it as much as possible.

I have a collection of art deco cabinets, wardrobes etc..
In my dining room because I've not got round to putting better joists into the rooms they're intended for.

I buy art deco furniture like Barry buys jackets.

If I were rich I'd have crazy shit like this
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-PATCHWORK-SOFA-CHAIR-Designers-Guild-fabrics-/150772765075?pt=UK_Antiques_AntiqueFurniture_SM&hash=item231ac1d193

it's probably best I'm not
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 20:32, Reply)
I buy a lot of stuff from here
www.andythornton.com/en-UK/products/architectural-antiques

They also buy old film sets for bars. Outrageous place.

You fold it all up (trying not to breathe in all the horrible damp polycell smell) and put it in bin bags
and take it to the tip.
(, Fri 9 Mar 2012, 20:11, Reply)
probably should have taken the stuff out of the room first, too
