It has been an ok week I think
I thought yesterday's shenanigans were hilarious and provided us with four threads with a post count over 300 (despite multiple deletions). There may be life in offtopic yet...
My understanding is that CQ has been branded as a nasty racist by the mods (I reckon one of them must be one of those porridge wogs).
I take my weekend pleasures in small measure these days, so I am looking forward to finishing at 3pm today, picking my son up from school and taking him on an educational visit to the best off licence in the world (well, in this city at least). There will also be fine curry eaten, probably on Saturday night.

Alt: It is all about the sneaky afternoon pint for me since giving up weed.

I am so evangelical about my local curry takeaway
I now have friends who travel across the city to eat his food (and this is in a city which has no shortage of Indian restaurants & takeaways). If you are ever vaguely near the Midlands, I will insist on dragging you there.

My one specialises in Nepalese food

It seems that some regional specialising is key
Most places tend to have roughly the same generic menu with little to distinguish them. There are huge variations between the food from the north and the south of India.

Ooh!
Which one is it? I'm (nearly) in Cov so I'd like to give it a go!

The Indian Empress on Binley Road (opposite Bulls Head)
I absolutely insist that you go there. If you don't love it, I will pay for your meal. All freshly prepared South Indian food (he buys all his ingredients daily from the greengrocer around the corner). As opposed to the bland generic Bangladeshi food that is on offer at most Indian places in Cov.

I shall dine from there this very evening!
Thanks for the recommendation.

Close enough
Come and have a curry.

Are you asking me out?

(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 10:23, Reply)
This place only does takeaway, so we'd actually be staying in...
*winks*
