(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:05, Reply)
I'm going to eat chips.

that does require 5 months planning

I ordered my ticket for this year's I'll Be Your Mirror
Which is apparently just down the road from Rory, so we're totally going to meet for beers and I'll probably crash round his gaff and everything.

ATP is a festival curated by bands. Previously held at Pontins in Camber Sands, now held at Butlins in Minehead.
Last year they introduced a non-residential version held at Alexandra Palace curated by Portishead. This year's is curated by Mogwai.
(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:18, Reply)
I heart Mogwai.
And the festival started as The Bowlie Weekender, put on by the bedwetter's favourite anorak-clad band, Bellend Sebastian.
(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:20, Reply)
I missed out on Bowlie
My first ATP was the Shellac curated one, which was just incredible. So many good bands.
(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:24, Reply)
I love Shellac.

(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:25, Reply)
What's not to love?

(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:27, Reply)
They aren't for everyone.

(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:28, Reply)
True, but I meant for you.
I would have expected you to love them.
(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:32, Reply)
Steve Albini is one of my heroes.

(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:32, Reply)
They set the bar pretty high for ATP
I expected them subsequent ones to be the same. It was only later I realised that the 3x free CDs featuring all the bands playing, plus the packed line up, etc. were features that Shellac had introduced for "their" festival.
All the others I've been to have been good, but that one was the best.
(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:39, Reply)
I've been to to Minehead, I was the only man not wearing 3/4 length tracksuit bottoms

(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:21, Reply)
If you went whilst ATP was on you would be the only man without a beard.

(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:25, Reply)
who says I don't have a beard?
But seriously, it was the worst place on earth
(, Fri 16 Mar 2012, 20:27, Reply)
Then you might blend in.
The usual plebs are not in attendance during the festival, which takes place out of season.
Sleeping in a chalet is preferable to slumming it in a tent: beds, showers, cooking facilities.
Plus there are no corporate sponsors, so you don't have to drink Carling.
The quality of bands playing is usually very high.
This festival is full of win.
