lifechanging decision day
done.
how do you view change? essential to progress, good as a feast, or to be feared and where possible, tormented with pithcforks, fire, and an angry mob of sun readers?

alt: what's more important to you, money or free time?

change is essential and to be relished
but can make you very sad on a personal level sometimes.

both.

WHEN YOU DIE NO-ONE WILL BE SAD

(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:05, Reply)
this is one of those times
more 'nervous' than sad.

Alt: All free time and no money is boring as fuck
and there's no enjoyment in having loads of money and no time to do anything with it, I'd imagine.
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:02, Reply)
Sometimes it is nice just to have some time to do fuck all though

(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:03, Reply)
Everything's nice if you're making a choice to do it.
The minute it's not your choice, it's a matter of endurance.

(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:24, Reply)
so if you get the opportunity
to lose SOME £ that's not totally essential, but gain some time... it's a good call?
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:28, Reply)
Yeah, I reckon so.
There's got to be some point to it, though. I wouldn't want to do it just so I could sit around in my pants more often. If I were to be spending more time with my family, or more time doing something else I love then I'd be happy making that trade-off, yes.

Money doesn't equal quality of life, is what I think I'm trying to get at, here.
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:32, Reply)
that's my feeling too
in which case, my decision was a good'un.
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:35, Reply)
I just look into my outstretched cup and there it is, hopefully.

(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:12, Reply)
I welcome change and new experiences
There is enough repetition and monotony in my life.

Alt: Could I just have a little of both? One without the other is not as good.
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:10, Reply)
i didn't say choose between them
i said give them a rating of importance. maybe a percentage.
for me, it's about 70-30 free time vs money. long as the rent gets paid, and there's bacon in the fridge, and every now and then i can do somethign rash like hit up a festival or go on holiday, i'd MUCH rather have some quality wanking time. i mean free time. to you know, whatever it is people who arent internet shut-ins do. bikini clad girls in hot tubs 'n' shit..

(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:36, Reply)
no
what kind of stalker would say yes ffs? amateur hour up in this piece.
nice shoes by the way.

Reading between the lines in your other responses
I would say: take the lower paid job with more free time. If you can afford to live on the new wage, I think you will be happier to have the extra free time.
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:38, Reply)
this
and: done.
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:43, Reply)
Bullshit.
Take the money and show some fucking gumption.
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:44, Reply)
It's not about pure horsepower, mate
it's all about the power to weight ratio, innit.
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:59, Reply)
why is it bullshit?
lets say you have a life where you live somewhere fucking cool, and you have a lovely missus you wanna spend time with.
now lets say your options are: live comfortably within your means and have a little spending room extra for luxuries. leave the house at quarter to nine and be home by quarter past six. OR earn a fair amount more, lose most of it to travel costs, and taxes, and spend four fucking hours a day sitting on a sweltering/freezing train, l;eave the house at 7:30, get back at 7:30 PROVIDED there' no transport fuckups, eat, make lunch, do the dishes, MAYBE get an hour to sit down and chill, then go to bed.. what's the merit of choosing the latter option?
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 12:05, Reply)
Latter. Everytime.

(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 12:14, Reply)
when i say MOST OF IT
after workling it out, i'll be better of by about £100 a month in terms of what's in my account. on a lower wage.
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 12:23, Reply)
Change is necessary and inevitable but not necessarily fun
Alt: money. Mostly because I have none, but too much free time.
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:55, Reply)
Change can be good
problem is there's too many people with a vested interest in constant change for the sake of it, not just politicians, we even have "change managers" ffs
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 11:56, Reply)
change managers
isn't that just a posh word for tramps? 'manage your change for you guv'nor?'
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 12:09, Reply)
haha!
imagining that will make enduring them a lot easier!
(, Thu 19 Jul 2012, 12:17, Reply)
this thread really took a dive
when quimten/mods deleted his little angry missive to someone's girlfriend.
