as to how you managed to spend £35 on a wok. It's a bit of steel with a handle.

i thought that was cheap? stupid thing had a metal handle, so then i had to find a silicon one to go over it
it amused me that the one i found was bright pink and said "if you can't take the heat, get out the kitchen" on it.

i bought my brother a le creuset one, which was stupid money, but i LOVE their stuff. looks so good in the kitchen.

Cheap and nasty woks don't last long
we have a le creuset one which must have been at least 30 odd quid, bu I expect it to last forever.

Plus it was a wedding present so I didn't actually pay for it.

It wasn't that much, it was probs more like 80-90.
What can I say, I have nice friends. ALso we bought some bits using vouchers that people have given us so it might not have come from just one person.

I've had the same one (well, two, one for thai, one for chinese) for about 15 years.
they both cost a tenner.

maybe I'm just lucky then. I suppose you might be justified in paying more for a non-stick one but they don't really work as well.

You might be OK with a le crueset one as I presume it's cast iron and enamel?
the problem with cheaper ones is that you can't coat steel with teflon and aluminium makes for a rubbish wok.
