The other half doesn't like horrors, unless they have vamps or zoms... he's a picky so and so! :)
I'll probably end up watching Creep, Insidious, Wrong Turn, Frigth Night, Last House and then look on Netflix for something shockingly awful but entertaining...

And secondly -

I thought it looked alright from the trailer! Gah!

Give me proper horrors anyday (The Omen), or at least decent 'Boo' films.(Candyman)

but it got absolutely slated on IMDb.

Most of the time I don't trust IMDb opinions on films, mainly because I end up loving the films that everyone else slates! Haha

I was always very partial to Hellraiser and also Wishmaster. Oooh I might watch An American Werewolf in London now that I think of it.

It's truly awful, but also brilliant! I think someone gets chopped in half with piano wire at one point - it's not a party 'til that happens! :)

Reminds me of the bit in Omen 2 where the guy is cut in half with a lift cable, haha
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:48, Reply)

It still can't beat The Omen where the guy gets his head chopped off with the sheet of glass - that gave me nightmares as a kid!

And the scene in the graveyard still freaks the shit out of me.

I think that's more freaky because it looks more real. The head scene is so blatently a papier-mache noggin' it makes it more comical.
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:54, Reply)

Hellraiser 3 is better than the first one in terms of cheesieness.
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:49, Reply)

Oh, you know what, I can't believe I've only just thought of this, while your hubby and my wife are away we should totally hook up.
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:53, Reply)

This is why you get ignored, do you realise that?
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:56, Reply)

it's almost like if we dont' do it we're awful bastards.
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:55, Reply)

To be fair we should probably invite Chickenlady too.

Especially not alone.

It's only a problem when I try to sleep, but my dreams are usually fucked up without horror-based inspiration so I'm cool with it! :)
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:40, Reply)

I went to see it a couple of weeks ago when it came out. I was so frightened by it that I was hugging my knees to my chest and crouching on my seat so I could run away at any moment. And I screamed out loud more than once.
but then, like I said, I am a big wuss with scary movies.
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:42, Reply)

I would like to see the film, but I need to read the book first, I've got it on Kindle - just waiting to finish Grisham-trash first! :)
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:45, Reply)

Haven't had a chace to read it yet though.
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:48, Reply)

Have you read Pride and Predjudice and Zombies?
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:50, Reply)

It's a bit silly, but good train-fodder! I think it's the same guy that wrote the Abraham Lincoln book isn't it?

That's a shame, I'll give it a whirl at some point - see what I think!
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:57, Reply)

I was really dissapointed by it.
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 16:59, Reply)

I'm going to read all three back to back, but I am already prepared to be annoyed. I think I'll back it up by reading the shitty Scott Mariani trilogy - at least it's not trying to be anything but a vamp/action romp.
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 17:03, Reply)

You should try Sense and Sensibility and Seamonsters, or Jayne Slayer.
( , Fri 17 Aug 2012, 17:01, Reply)

I bought it a few months ago and I've read it twice already. It's hilariously ludicrous.
