Good idea, a lot of older housing costs local authorities massively for the general upkeep, also the tenant would benefit from modern housing with lower utility bills and housing designed for the 21st century.

From my point of view I find this a good idea as I pay a high mortgage for a small house.

Yet some people, who take advantage of the housing situation are given huge houses to home famillies who haven't paid a penny into the system over 3 or 4 generations , or have just entered the country.

Stop giving the idol people Palaces whilst the rest of us live in expensive shoe boxes.

ALMOs and LSVTs are the way forward for council housing
This means all of the rent a tenant pays goes to the upkeep of properties (as opposed to being in the council "pot"). Housing Associations are almost all non-profit organisations

Same rent = better house with an HA
