Yeah nice one.
I watched that Valkyrie on television last night. Save for the bit when the bomb was about to go off (which was pretty tense), I was amazed at how that prick off 'Cocktail' managed to make a film about the attempted assassination of fuckin Hitler so incredibly dull.

What surprises you?

Alt: what (apart from me, ho ho, and these questions ha ha) is really fucking dull?

Have you ever seen that film about them guys driving a truck full of NitroGlycerine along some mountains?
That's pretty friggin tense that is.

I think I have actually.
Fucking great film. They don't make them like that any more ie in black and white.
(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:34, Reply)
And in French

(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:35, Reply)
Then maybe I haven't.
The only French film I've ever seen is 'The Pink Panther' lol
(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:36, Reply)
I think it's in french, I watched it with a hangover, so I couldn't be sure.

(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:37, Reply)
Now I've had some fairly epic hangovers in my time
but never one so bad as to change the language of a film. That homebrew cider must be hard fucking core, bro.
(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:44, Reply)
The best and worst bit of that film was when they tried to blow up Tom Cruise in that strafe right at the start.

(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:39, Reply)
That was a reasonable action scene I suppose.
All over in about a minute though eh.
(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:42, Reply)

(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:45, Reply)
Indeed.
Plus chances are after that minute both parties are likely to be still alive.
(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:51, Reply)
Have you seen 'Downfall'?
I thought that was a very good film about Hitler. You know, as films about Hitler go.

Alt: doing the accounts :-(
(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:42, Reply)
It's a superb film.
All films about Hitler have at least got the fact that they are abou Hitler on their side. I thought the chap playing Adolf in last night's film overdid the hunched and resigned 'late era' Hitler a bit.
(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:43, Reply)
I liked the one in Inglourious Basterds who went 'Nein, nein, nein!' a lot.

I was expecting to enjoy that one a lot more than I did.

No thanks!
The reviews and the fact that it has Tom Cruise in is enough to put me off. I bet there was fucking show tunes in it.

Inglorious Basterds all the way
(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:46, Reply)
There was shit all else on.
It was better than the other options and that says more about the other options than about Valkyrie. Turns out you *can* watch too many episodes of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, after all. Who knew?
(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 17:48, Reply)
You should have gone to see a professional charlatan.
They would have taken your money and told you lies.

Collateral
Now that's a good Tom Cruise film, but how he is one of the most powerful people in America for acting is beyond me...

List some more good Tom Cruise films.

I'd also go with legend but Im a sucker for a bit old school fantasy

did you know
That Tom Selleck was the original casting choice for Indiana Jones? And that Leonardo Di Caprio was the studio's choice for the role of Pat Bateman, and it was only at Mary Harron' insistence that Christian Bale was cast?

The mind boggles.
(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 18:07, Reply)
Hmm...
Di Caprio is too nice for American Psycho though the role would have stopped him being typecast.
(, Mon 12 Nov 2012, 18:15, Reply)
