Jim Jones Revue have done a new album but I'm too poor to buy it so I cannot say for 100% certain, but it's still my album of the year because he is fucking great.

All other records from 2012 are shit.

I got my dad onto those, he loves them. I have the vinyls of the first three and annoyingly I think the CDs have more tracks on. I hate it when they do that.

Knife Party's two EPs have been most impressive
And "Update 3.0" by X-RX was fucking brilliant. Not sure if that was this year or last mind.

All pales into insignificance compared to this though. Sure to be a slow-burning hit next year. You'll need to look hard to find it mind.

I recently purchased a load of ZZ Top albums so I now have everything post Eliminator.
I'm refusing to buy the older albums as, with the exception of Tres Hombres and Fandango, which have since been remastered and reissued, when they were transferred to CD they decided to replace the original drum tracks with big reverb heavy stadium style drums so, while the songs are great, that really minor thing about the drums has prevented me spending the money on CD copies.

I obviously downloaded digital versions illegally, because I like listening to them.

On the advice of Tangles (seconded by Naked Ape) I've been listening to Iron and Wine. I like him and may actually purchase his stuff too.
