I'm in the pub having a smug pint.
All Xmas shopping done, decorations (such as they are) all put up, presents bought & wrapped, just waiting for a mate to pick up a guitar I've repaired and refinished.
What reasons do you have for smugness?
Alt: Tonight's dinner? I'm going to the local 'eat all you can' Chinese where I intend to make a serious dent in their chilli & salt king prawn supply.

What does "such as they are" mean.
Have you got some of those horrific alternative decorations?

They are pictures of raped, dead teenagers with glitter stars stuck to them.

Al! I'm surprised YOU didn't leap on this first - didn't you hear the bell that starts you salivating?
Clearly I must try harder.

Watching the football
all xmas shopping done bar a couple of "Amazon gift vouchers" for people I can't get a physical gift to easily. No particular reason for smugness, I'm very humble.

Alt: Probably pasta, I've got a load of stuffed tortelloni and a variety of sauces so there's going to be quite a bit of that over the festive period.

Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs. I'm a massive Burroughs nerd. I wrote part of my dissertation about Naked Lunch.

I'm gonna top it with Chilli Heatwave Doritos, I reckon the spice and crunch would work well.

Loving your work!
Chilli and sweetcorn work well together - maybe some grated strong cheese with chilli powder over the top and put under the grill until it bubbles?

Hah, thanks =D
I melted some emmingtile on top of it.

I swear man, I love cooking. Not every day, but when I'm in the mood to cook, I fucking love it. The only times I consider it a chore is when I'm proper fatigued.
