	Controversial.
 	Surnames at my school. But then, you had to be able to hit a six, sing the school song and take a hot crumpet from behind without blubbing.

	Anyone who referred to me by my surname was unlikely to be a friend.
 	And they would usually pronounce it with a ghastly Coventry accent.
