Staying up drinking into the wee small hours of wednesday morning
I went with "drunk guys making lots of noise and getting arrested in the building at 3am".

Also I had a phonecall from my conveyancing solicitors this morning. GUESS WHAT!!!

No, it turns out, get this, there's a problem with my sellers. Again. Still haven't exchanged. I suspect this flat was also a bad decision.

Might not be.
Equally likely to be "legal profession being pricks"TM
(, Wed 20 Mar 2013, 11:47, Reply)
unlikely
as he won't get paid until the transaction completes... lawyers aren't pricks when it comes to getting paid...
(, Wed 20 Mar 2013, 11:48, Reply)
Yes, but they are magically good at extending the amount of work done
thus ensuring they get paid more.
(, Wed 20 Mar 2013, 11:49, Reply)
depends
for conveyancing it's usually a fixed fee

for stuff like divorce or litigation, where it's hourly rates, you might have had a bad experience, i admit...

I'm pretty sure my last piece of conveyancing daarn saaaf wasn't fixed.
Or, at least it was fixed unless anything went wrong. Which it then magically did.

Meh, that was a fair while ago though.
