I cannot think of anything more pointless and less likely to effect change than protesting against a dead person
who even when she was alive famously ignored protests

I cannot imagine it doing anything worth while, but it would be fun to watch.
and even more fun to do if I didn't value my job.

I don't imagine anyone thinks it's make a difference as much as make a point.

what point?
"We didn't like someone's politics from 30 years ago and now she's dead we want to reiterate this point by wasting police time and money and trashing some parts of London?"

I do not claim to speak for any putative protesters,
however I suspect it would be the point that one's sins should not be forgotten or glossed over just because one is dead, and also that many people object strenuously to £10m of state money being spent on the funeral of a millionaire, especially under the current economic climate, when the money could well be spend on better things.

Both perfectly valid points.
Which are better expressed in ways that don't involve gloating and throwing bins through shopfronts.

Nothing says 'valid political statement'
like smashing up a load of businesses and generally being a prick at vast expense to the hard-pressed national coffers, without even offering a coherent alternative. That's what I say.

I wonder where all the trustafarian "occupy" protesters are now?
Oh yeah that's right in their "attic flats" in their parents Notting Hill houses, waiting to dig out their tents again for "Glasto" and "Bestival" where they are totes dressing up as horses for the lols!!!

Hopefully they're all being raped by randy Indians whilst 'discovering themselves' in Kathmandu

This is really quite offensive, I'm almost sorry

Yeah but you're not, are you?

(, Tue 16 Apr 2013, 12:03, Reply)
Almost

(, Tue 16 Apr 2013, 12:04, Reply)
I don't think I said it's be a valid political statement.
merely that it would be fun to watch. much like foot ball I imagine.
