was that Kevin Costner as Clark Kents dad?

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:20, 1 reply, 12 years ago)
Indeed it was
I REALLY want it to be not shit. I've been hurt before, Windy.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:26, Reply)
well, watchmen and 300 were good, it's a good origin story in its own right,
They haven't made a big deal of Lois, so hopefully bo patronisingly slushy love sub plot, and let's be fair, has Costner ever made a bad film?
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:31, Reply)
It has the ingredients of a good movie
But then so did Dark Knight Rises.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:34, Reply)
I never understood why they went with the bane story to end the trilogy.

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:41, Reply)
because that aussie guy died

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:42, Reply)
It was no 'Batman and Robin' fo' sho'.

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:42, Reply)
I read in Empire
that it was because you touch yourself at night.

Calm down Sam Fox

They're usually pretty spot on the money, so I'd go along with that.

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:47, Reply)
They were right about Phantom Menace being BRULLIANT

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:52, Reply)
That Binks fellow is one of little tangle's favourite characters.

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:53, Reply)
Kids love him, you can't deny it
I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan, I'll admit it. But even I get embarrassed by the fan boys that lose their rag over anything SW related. "IT'S SO SHIT...I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I'VE SEEN IT 16 TIMES ALREADY."
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:54, Reply)
The Postman.

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:40, Reply)
Oh and Dragonfly, fuck me that was shit.

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:43, Reply)
I disagree with both things there
300 was a music video and Watchmen was so dull and so reverent of the source material it was just like rubbing the comic on a big screen for three hours.

Apart from the end, it's good they fixed the end
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:51, Reply)
While you're right on both points
I still enjoyed both of those movies.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:52, Reply)
I like bits of Watchmen, but it's bloated and padded to fuck
Didn't like 300 though, was bored. Soz.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:53, Reply)
It's a real boys film, it's true
But I liked it. Hope this doesn't come between us, Theo x
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:55, Reply)
You know I always got love for yo, sweetie

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:55, Reply)
Oh, thank god

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:56, Reply)
I never read 300,but enjoyed it as a film,
I felt watchmen was good, it could have been better, but then a film of a comic is never going to be perfect.
Soz theo. Don't hit me.

Would you like to see my Leonidas costume?

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 10:04, Reply)
yes

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 10:06, Reply)
Boy, are YOU in for a treat x

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 10:07, Reply)
This is a big leap of faith to take.
The originals were a significant part of my childhood.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:33, Reply)
This will always be the problem with any new Superman movie
Christopher Reeves was and is the ONLY Superman.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:34, Reply)
I cried when he gave up his powers in Superman II
I don't mind admitting to that.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:35, Reply)
me too.

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:37, Reply)
When he fights himself in the junk yard
Then rips off his shirt...Man...that is one of the single greatest moments in cinema EVA.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:37, Reply)
Superman 4 was utter donkey cock though.

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:39, Reply)
Oh, no question

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:45, Reply)
I mean, 3 had some redeemable bits in it, but 4 was filmed in Milton Keynes ffs.
And the New York subway was so obviously the London Underground.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:46, Reply)
Also Clive 'Where's me ear gone' Mantle was the original Nuclear Man in it
but they cut his scene on the basis that it made the film look really, really shit instead of just really shit.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:48, Reply)
Cool a super gritty take on a man who dresses up in tights and flies and shoots lasers from his eyes

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:48, Reply)
That does appear to be the flaw in that trailer.
You can't have gritty realism AND dress up in lycra with a bent cape.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:50, Reply)
And is killed by small rocks

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:50, Reply)
I WON'T LISTEN TO THIS, THEO
I WON'T
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:51, Reply)
Don't get me wrong, might be alright
And I'll end up going to see it

But I hope it's not as SUPER SERIOUS as the trailers are making out, he's superman, he's one step up from Aquaman and not a big step at that
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:53, Reply)
i hope it's as good as superman returns

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:54, Reply)
I like the bit where during the whole film superman never did any superheroics
apart from 30 seconds at the start and 30 seconds at the end
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:55, Reply)
i liked the bit where he teamed up with Mothra to fight the evil Powerrangers zoid

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:56, Reply)
The Power Rangers Christmas film is on Netflix if you fancy it

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:59, Reply)
This leads us to the next point
What of JLA? Should they even bother? Should they make the JLA movie, and then make individual movies?
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:56, Reply)
Oh man I'd love that, Aston is my favorite. I like all of his antics and backflips, he's well fit

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:57, Reply)
I wouldn't mind them copying Marvel's approach and having individual movies first
But they've had a stab at Green Lantern already and that was shit, so I dunno if they can be relied on to turn out some decent films.

I reckon, just bash it out
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 9:58, Reply)
I agree
They'd have to make (good) movies of Wonder Woman, Batman (rebooted) and Flash at LEAST. I could live without an Aquaman movie.
Bang out the JLA movie, then see if anyone cares enough to see the rest.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 10:01, Reply)
Not another batman

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 10:04, Reply)
They'll have to
I can't see Christian Bale/Chris Nolan's Batman fitting into a JLA type scenario.
