I'm with you in the cheaper goods front,
I just wonder whether a rise in online and a drop in high street would have an impact on jobs? Or would a growing online retail sector pick up the slack with customer service operatives and drivers and warehouse staff etc?

it does have a large decrease in jobs, especially low skilled.

(, Fri 10 May 2013, 10:13, Reply)

That's a STROKE of luck!!!!!

(, Fri 10 May 2013, 10:25, Reply)
The latter I think.
But even if there would be a drop in employment, that's greater efficiency on the part of the businesses and thus kind of tough shit in a sense.
(, Fri 10 May 2013, 10:14, Reply)
The problem being that the unemployment will be Structural unemployment
and that's a real cunt to get rid of, there's a balance increasing efficiency is good, but if people have no chance of getting a job then their efficiency is 0. As happened in coal towns in the 80s
(, Fri 10 May 2013, 10:17, Reply)
yeah but they're pretty pointless people anyway
send them to the newly formed Scotland
(, Fri 10 May 2013, 10:19, Reply)
The trouble with country folk
is that they buy a couple of range rovers off the back of honest hardworking city folk and suddenly think they're too good to "muck oot coos" like their forebears.
(, Fri 10 May 2013, 10:20, Reply)
Ah yes but if we turfed out a couple of generations of foreigners we'd be fine.
I keep telling you - Farage is your man, here.

I watched that there Question time last night,
All the politicians appeared a little worried that they had been ignoring some of the more racist parts of the country.

Given the Royal Mail just nearly doubled its parcel prices
and is about to be privatised, good luck with online shopping in the future if you live in the sticks.
