Netflix or Lovefilm?

(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 20:44, 28 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
netflix

I have Netflix, it's great for boxsets, but crap for films.
Wondering if I should have both, or continue with Netflix & get Sky Movies.
(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 20:58, Reply)
Depends how much time you spend in front of the tv
We had Sky movies on a cheap trial over Xmas, it was OK but once the holidays were over we didn't really have time to watch it so got rid. Netflix is better for kids (specially since they added a load of Disney the other week) and at £6 a month a lot cheaper. Needs decent broadband for HD though.
Me, I prefer the cinema, tbh.

I like the cinema, but vegging out in front of the TV at times is good too.
Mainstream TV (BBC etc) is full of shit. Hardly watch it, hence having something additional.

Hence why some people resort to illegal methods to obtain films

(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 21:08, Reply)
Can't be arsed. Haven't found a way of transferring from laptop to TV that's easy enough, plus most stuff seems to be shit quality.

(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 21:12, Reply)
If most stuff is shit quality, you are simply dowloading the wrong stuff
Pretty much any TV series and recent film can be obtained in a range of qualities to suit your download allowance or TV size.

Also, if your laptop has an HDMI output, which it will if it's not a shit laptop, and your TV has an HDMI input, which it will if it isn't a shit TV, then you simply connect your laptop to your TV and use it as an external monitor.

If your telly doesn't have an HDMI input then it's shit enough for your comment about the quality of torrented material to be uninformed gibberish.

All the kit I have does have HDMI.
Would you mind listing some sites that work/ have good quality downloads for you so I can give them a try?
(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 21:26, Reply)
Go to Come.in, it's a proxy for pirate bay and kick ass torrents.
Then you just need utorrent and you're set.
(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 21:30, Reply)
Great. Thanks for that. Much appreciated.

(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 21:31, Reply)
Actually, for most current TV series, jsut go straight to eztv (google it) and you can get the magnet links for torrents from there.

Don't dismiss what i'm 'bout to say.....
But you can get an xbox360 really cheap these days, it's got apps from pretty much every major content-provider available, and can read USB sticks.

I never use mine for games, maybe a couple of times a year, but as a media-machine, I use it every day.

I'm thinking Now would be good, it's built on SkyMovie's library, so you don't have to get the whole of sky for it.

BBC radio

(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 20:59, Reply)
I'm sure you normally refer to it as 'the wireless'

(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 21:02, Reply)
Why would you need wires in a wind-up radio?

(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 21:04, Reply)
Surely yours runs on yak sweat?

(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 21:07, Reply)
Not sure how that would work

(, Sun 2 Jun 2013, 21:13, Reply)
Neither.
Just get thee a nice book and spend the time colouring in the pictures.
