They are pressured into getting kids the higher grades to make the school look good in the league tables, to the point where the teachers end up doing some of the work on occasion.

My sons done about 6 exams in as many weeks
Technically he's only a 4th year senior not a fifth year why are they doing them so early

If he passes them he can do more in year 11, if he fails he can be coached on the bits he's shit at.
Either way it improves the school's league table results.

The school is in the country’s top ten, and they are really driven by their OFSTED results, supposedly he will have 14 GCSE's by next summer

A friend is a uni lecturer, in chemistry,
and over the exam period he's been running Saturday classes off his own bat, for no pay. The reason being, many of his students are going to fail, and it'll make him look shit. Some of his students have a 10 or so percent attendance, and submit work late every time. Surely it's those idle twats fault, not his.

Gove thinks teachers should be on performance related pay and that the current system for paying more experienced teachers more should be scrapped.

It's not the teachers fault if students can't be arsed to learn.
I ran art workshops with "disadvantaged" single mothers, who couldn't spell their own names. Wtf were they doing for 11 years schooling? Besides getting pregnant?
