Always a word problem too
"Tommy has 26 packs of 48 apples. He leaves 13 packs in the sun and half the apples inside the packs perish. How many apples is Tommy left with"

I consider that sort of problem more as a spatial problem than a maths problem
because you can break it down into "shapes" (for want of a better term, I'm not a synaesthete). Thinking of it like that rather than trying to find 48x13 suddenly makes it much easier.

10x48 = 480, 3x50-6=144 etc
