I got fired once, I very much wanted to quit anywayBEST DAY EVER, it was beautiful sunny day, i went to the pub with friends all day, got another job a couple of weeks later.

mine was kind of by mtual consent, but it meant no notice periodi was walking on air when I left, sometimes you don't realise how miserable you are till you leave somewhere!
