If we had Spanish weather in Cornwall, how many Brits would bother with a passport?

(, Tue 6 Aug 2013, 9:57, 1 reply, 12 years ago)
Precisely this.
Snootiness about America I encounter I find really annoying, not to mention ignorant.

Not being snooty really, there are many other places I'd like to visit.
Mate lived in Guatemala, he enjoyed that.

It's lazy and wholly unwarranted snobbery which tells you far more negative stuff about the wanker saying it than about Americans

(, Tue 6 Aug 2013, 10:03, Reply)
Or possibly some people do not like some of the countries they have been to as much as others.

(, Tue 6 Aug 2013, 10:05, Reply)
Talking specifically about the oft-touted 'passports' judgement here.
It's a nonsense argument.
(, Tue 6 Aug 2013, 10:10, Reply)
Yes, this is a bit silly
I'd probably not have one now if you didn't need it for Europe.
(, Tue 6 Aug 2013, 10:24, Reply)
isn't it also because americans get hardly any holiday, compared to us, for example?
if you only get 10 days a year, you're perhaps less likely to go abroad, as you won't want to spend 2 of them on an aeroplane.
(, Tue 6 Aug 2013, 10:28, Reply)
That's true
and is also the reason why you seem them haring around Europe at 1000 miles an hour completing some exhausting checklist of photo ops, the poor sods.
(, Tue 6 Aug 2013, 10:30, Reply)
Er but Americans are ALL shit
OK HTH
