It's next door to Brian Harvey's house

(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:15, Reply)
Quite pleasant.
Would you not prefer a two-bedroom place though? Or would that hike the cost up stupidly?
(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:16, Reply)
Yes and yes.

(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:17, Reply)
Thought so.

That reminds me of the properties in Brislington, Bristol

Dull Victorian terrace *shrugs*
This morning I thought I was definitely consigned to renting so anything at all would be a massive plus.
(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:23, Reply)
i like victorian terraces
new, shiny, concrete, steel and glass = dull
(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:24, Reply)
True indeed
There are loads of modern blocks with flats in my price backet that I've not even clicked on.

no character and paperthin walls

(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:27, Reply)
Possibly worth a look anyway; you may be surprised.

(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:27, Reply)
Careful though,
Old properties generally equal damp.
(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:28, Reply)
very easy to sort out properties without a DPC
as long as you don't live in a flood plain of course
(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:29, Reply)
I have only owned one house, it is on a flood plain. DPC is not cheap to sort.
But it's a lovely victorian terrace, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

That's why I have an 18th century cottage...

Admittedly its not in London,

Mine is a 1880's Victorian town house
3 stories and a cellar, I quite like my pile of bricks
(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:28, Reply)
Sounds like Blousie's place.

(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:30, Reply)
doesn't BGB's place get flooded?

(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:31, Reply)
It got a little bit damp in the cellar one year after a particularly severe flood,
but her house is quite high up from the river so generally OK. The park provides a natural flood plain.
(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:33, Reply)
I was once asked if ours may suffer from flooding
only if it would be on a biblical scale, did not seem to amuse
(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:34, Reply)
I too have 3 stories and a cellar
we could be house twins
(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:33, Reply)
I hide Battereds gin in my cellar

(, Wed 14 Aug 2013, 16:35, Reply)
