If you're gonna hook up a Xbox/Playstation/Android Box/AppleTV/etc, then not really.
Google "Android Stick", does the same job but much cheaper.

I think they come with a remote with a touchpad or you can use your phone.
The respective apps work on xbox/ps3/youview that don't have a touch screen.

I have a Roku box, cost £40, streams all sorts. It's the one Sky altered to make their own Sky Go box (which looks the same nut is silver and more locked down).

Separate box is better as they tend to get more firmware updates, and if you change TV it stays the same, lot of smart TVs are quite out of date not having all the catchup apps.
