alright gaylords
There's a splendid doc on iPlayer on the Ottoman empire. Do you have a favourite period of history? Is there one about which your own ignorance is a source of shame for you?

Perhaps you are some kind of knobcheese and care nothing for history. Defend yourself.

Alt: have you ever experienced the sacred love between a man and his equine counterpart?

My knowledge of the Spanish civil war is frightful.
It's limited almost entirely to the use of Stukas at Guernika. This is not sufficient.

Basically, some cunts won an election.
Some other cunts didn't like it and decided to try and stage an uprising.
Cunts from outside the country wouldn't allow the elected cunts to buy arms, etc but nazi cunts ignored this and sold arms to the uprisers.
Then some commie cunts got involved and it all got very unpleasant.
Eventually one set of cunts won and staged a blood purge of the cunts who'd have purged THEM if they'd have won.

HTH.

My knowledge of history is more limited than I would like. I'd like to know more about the Second World War, as I have met family and others who served/ lived at that time
I have all 6 volumes of Churchill's war diaries, never read them, to my shame.

The bond between a warrior and his steed as evidenced by the ultimate act of physical unity echoes down the ages as a chivalric ideal too often ignored in these benighted times.

I knew a girl years ago who claimed that her hymen had been broken by riding a horse. I have no idea how she could claim to know this.

I also thought that in another situation that I had torn through a girl's hymen.
I was wrong. She'd merely kept her tights on.

Did a thing in it for my A-level project. Beyond all the obvious bits there are some great surviving pamphlets and posters and accounts.
Always had a soft spot for it since.

Pretty ignorant of most of the bug events post WW2 to my shame.

I liked the bit where they gassed the Jews best.
I read a good book about Rasputin, that was an interesting period. School put me off history but I like it now, even though I am a poorly educated common fool.

I was never a fan of history, but I'm reading Game of Thrones at the moment [bare with me], which I thought i'd hate but I really like.
And I found myself yesterday for the first time ever watching and enjoying TimeTeam at Westminster Abby. I can't remember much because I was putting up my christmas lights and it was on in the background..... but never the less, I thought it was quite fasinating.
