Yeap.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:20, Reply)
Excellent. I started a new contract today. V short term initially.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:22, Reply)
Cool.
Unusual to get started this close to Christmas, how long are you signed up for?

I got offered an extension until June today.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:25, Reply)
End of the year initially, but it could go on until June

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:29, Reply)
are we not having a right laugh here?

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:17, Reply)
You tell 'im, titch.
So, how is everyone? All good? Everybody happy?
I get to go back to work tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to. After 9 days away, I fully expect to have forgotten how to do everything.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:26, Reply)
What did you do with your time off?

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:27, Reply)
Sold shit on eBay probably.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:30, Reply)
Long weekend in Liverpool, doing the xmas shopping.
I've needed the last two days to recover. I tell you, by Sunday night I was a broken shell of a woman.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:31, Reply)
why don't you start a gaz petition again?
You know, seeing how you're in charge here etc.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:38, Reply)
It's well known such campaigns don't work. After all, about 5 people here have tried to get rid of you over the last few months.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:42, Reply)
what, you and your lolarious sockpuppets?

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:43, Reply)
Pfft. Yeah, ok 'Ian Watkins'.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:49, Reply)

Not my style.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:47, Reply)
What made you choose Liverpool for a weekend away?

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:48, Reply)
We did it a couple of years ago
and had a great time. There's some good shopping in the 'pool.

I don't know if it was my age, my extra weight, or my arthritis, but this year I really struggled doing three full days of walking. By the time we got back to our hotel at night, I didn't even have the energy to go prop up the bar :-(
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:52, Reply)
Did you stay somewhere nice or somewhere merely 'functional'?

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 20:57, Reply)
Mostly 'functional'
but not 'youth hostel'. It was more 'mid range boutique'. 2nd floor, no lift. *yoiks*
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:02, Reply)
Thieving fucking scouse gits probably nicked the lift.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:05, Reply)
I'm just impressed my suitcase still had wheels at the end of the weekend.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:06, Reply)
Did where you stayed, ate, etc. make you pay for everything in advance? Most reasonable* places do up there due to the amount of people fucking off without paying.
* I know there are very few places in Liverpool that achieve such a high standard.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:12, Reply)
No, not at all.
They asked us to settle up the night before we left, because they were usually so busy in the mornings.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:15, Reply)
That's the reason they gave you...

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:17, Reply)
Well, we do look pretty shifty.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:17, Reply)

shifty

Hefty

I'd like to say I'm sorry about that strikethrough, but, in all honesty, I'm not.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:20, Reply)
Nah, that's just me.
My mum is a skinny bitch.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:20, Reply)
Ah. Thought you went with the old man.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:24, Reply)
He doesn't do shopping.
Or walking.
This was strictly a girls' weekend. The old lady, her best mate, and me.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:27, Reply)
Good job his carer works weekends eh?

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:30, Reply)
The Swan Inn is a good city centre boozer.
Rock pub, real ales and Old Rosie scrumpy. Belting place.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:19, Reply)
It's Liverpool. No thanks.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:20, Reply)
We passed one boozer that was doing £1.98 pints up till 6pm.
And they say there's a problem with alcohol up north.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:21, Reply)
In my local it's £4.10 for a standard pint. Somewhere premium is nearly a fiver.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:25, Reply)
Anyone would think you lived in London...

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:31, Reply)
…where paying a fiver a pint doesn't mark you out as the sort of prick who….well, would willingly pay a fiver for a pint.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:47, Reply)
House bitter at my local is 2quid. Most are 2, 40-2.80.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:51, Reply)
It's about 3.70 - 4 quid round here.
I remember when I was at uni, most union election campaigns were run on a platform of 'a pound a pint'...
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:52, Reply)
£3 a pint here
When are you over here anyway?
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 21:57, Reply)
pretty much the same here (non-gentrified West Yorkshire)

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 22:18, Reply)
My local £3.20/pint for standard lager, £4.00 for 'premium'
My usual haunt £2.44 for lager but £1.90 on Mondays
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 22:28, Reply)
Or, as everyone else calls it 'Yorkshire'.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 23:41, Reply)
I bought some beer in a pub once
True story
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 22:35, Reply)
That's more than Lighty ever does.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 22:39, Reply)
Why do you suppose he's such a miserly old skinflint?

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 22:42, Reply)
Dunno. He's told me (unprompted) his salary before, he's not Bill Gates, but he's doing better than a reasonable proportion of the population.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 22:47, Reply)
that'd be why
having a lot of money and not spending it is often how folk get and stay rich

good example of this: the kingdom of Saudi Arabia
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 22:52, Reply)
I'm not saying he earns a lot of money, but he isn't on the breadline.
He can afford to buy a round or five.
(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 22:56, Reply)
If he isn't Bill Gates then I'm not a black dude with natty dreads.

(, Tue 3 Dec 2013, 22:53, Reply)
Ha ha! I'd forgotten about that.
