This is a clever ploy operated by most wimmin.
Wives wait until a few days before Christmas then say, "Don't get me A, B and C." They know you have already bought their presents and can guess what you've got them because you've responded to her previous hints. So you have to get extra presents and you'll give her the boots etc anyway. Profit.
Solution. Buy nothing till 4:30 on Christmas Eve.
