Any point going to a private pension over a company one?

Your employer will probably only pay in to the company one and not a private one. There's no point turning down the free money, plus you get death in service benefits with a company one.

Also, if you set up a private one then you need professional advice, which will mean fees or a cut of the first year's contributions. No setup fees with a company one, just the annual management charges.
