I'm working through the books and they are achingly sluggish at times, and some of the twists a bit far fetched.

But some of the sub-plots are alright, and some of the characters are good.
And ... naked chicks all over the shop.

a)I'm now thoroughly convinced he got in over his head, wrote too many characters and too many divergent plotlines and now won't be able to bring them all to a satisfactory conclusion
and b) I'm not convinced it was a wise use of my time.

and then there'll be huge pressure for him to let Hollywood scriptwriters finish the story for him. I bet they've already got a few ideas planned out.

But the telly show is much easier than the books, which are quite hard work (but worth it I reckon)... I can't stand Bran and Catlin's chapters in teh book, but put up with them for Tyrion.
I'm half way through the hungry games trillogy and then i'm gonna do book 4; all other books suddenly are well easy now in comparison.

so I find it really hard to keep up with the descrptions of what is happeneing to other characters when it's not their chapter.
