If I'm with other adults I might have one beer or a glass of wine, but if I'm on my own with her then I don't.It's not exactly a hardship, given I can have beer when she's not with me (subject to work, driving etc.) pretty much whenever I like.

Whilst they don't arrive with an instruction manual, it isn't difficult; keep them safe, keep them fed & watered, have fun with them to keep you both entertained, do things to educate them, discipline when necessary.
