the tax man ate most of my last fucking bonus. fair enough to tax fatcat bonuses, but generally a bonus is an incentive/reward and so the first few thousand should be tax free. i'd happily give them tax on lottery wins instead, as a squid pro quo.

I would say up to £10k should be tax-free, if it's performance based, but in return lottery wins can be taxed. that's money for virtually nothing, that is.

Spread bet or just bet 50% of your bonus and then when you win that would be tax free.
And is it a bonus or just withheld earnings that you should have rightly earned in the first place. Bonuses are for dicks, commission and shares are what you get for work. Not directed at you per se.
